3rd annual "Old Time Cruise to Estacada"
On Saturday August 16th in downtown Estacada on Main street in front of the A & W
sponsored by by the Route 26 Cruisers Car Club

a portion of the proceeds go to the Estacada Food Bank. Last year we were able to donate over $700 to them so we hope that we can increase it this year.

There will be:
• Live music
• Raffles
• and lots of beautiful classic cars to check out

. The more people and cars the more money we can raise for the Estacada Food Bank.

CALLING ALL THESPIANS -- actors......

Dear PAGEr's - (Performing Arts Group of Estacada),

        Everyone is invited to a meeting on Monday, August 11, at 7 pm in the Flora Room at our Library.

         At the meeting we'll discuss any plays that people have read or watched. Several of us have been looking at scripts and films,
trying to find a play that PAGE can produce. Come hear about what we've found so far.

        We'll also play some theater games. Pamela Waltermire will lead us in some new improv games she's discovered. Lots of grins and giggles for everyone who attends.

at 3rd and Broadway in the Thriftway lot
Opening day is May 3rd at 10 am.

More and more fresh, local produce every week.

Debra Bufton, Market Manager is researching the formation of a food cooperative! We are now in the process of collecting names and contact information of interested parties. Stop by the "Estacada Fresh" booth and speak to Debra for more information or email her at buftond@rconnects.com.

Go GREEN at the market on August 9th at our Green Festival! Claudia Hernandez from Claudia's Catering will prepare delicious examples of what our fresh, local produce can be used for. Samples at noon. Learn about other local initiatives to reduce our impact on the earth's resources - recycling, composting, and more! The Community Newspapers "Sustainable Life" staff will also be on hand with fun activities. Bring the family for a fun and worthwhile day!

The Market is pleased to announce a collaboration with the Estacada Food Bank. The Market is now available as a drop-off site for fresh fruit and produce donations. Join Market vendors in donating to the Estacada Food Bank - a Food Bank volunteer will be at the market each Saturday at 3:00 pm to accept donations and transport them to cool storage. Receipts are available for tax purposes if desired.

Come to visit with old friends and meet new ones -- it's THE PLACE TO BE every summer Saturday in Estacada.......

Mountain View is the home of that crazy 12th hole, a par 3, whereby you get to pitch one up and down 200 feet to the green - this time it is worth $10,000 for a hole-in-one! It really is a lovely course, and very enjoyable to play, and to get really good scores in our 'Best Ball' tourney.

Our ten therapy horses (Carrie's Kids) are cared for through the winter - when Blue Heaven is unable to conduct classes due to the holiday season and the weather - through the funds raised by the annual golf tournament. Our hay bill went up $95/ton this year!

Please mark your calendars for:
• Wednesday August 6th at Mountain View Golf Course in Boring
• It's a 7:00 a.m. registration,
• 8:30 a.m. shotgun start,
• 4-person team best ball tournament.
• Teams are needed ($100 for each player, 18 holes, cart, lunch & door prize included), so too are hole-sponsors, general sponsors and door prize donations.

Produce starting to run out your ears? Try your hand at the market by signing up for our Community Booth. You get a chance to try out the market, the community gets a chance at your produce. You pay a percentage of sales - never more than $20 per week. Contact Debra for more information. OR - don't forget your local Food Bank. The Estacada Family Resource Center welcomes fresh food on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Estacada Community Center during operating hours AND at the Farmers Market at 3:00 pm on Saturdays. Your donation will be weighed and a receipt issued for tax purposes, if desired.
